The main problem with medication is that it is only good while the adhd medication is active in the body.  After that the ADHD symptoms return and sometimes stronger then before.  Teaching the child to control or manage their adhd symptoms have lasting impacts even if changes are small to begin with.

There has been over 174 studies have show that behavioral treatment for ADHD works and works well.  Learning how to properly manage a child's behavior and teach them how to properly expel the pent-up energy an ADHD child normally has.  The studies go a long way but there is still more data to be reviewed.  These include the effects that fathers and other sibilings have on improving adhd treatment. 

Driving age teens with ADHD are more likely to get into accidents with the car.  Teaching skills and symptom management while providing driving instruction is imparative to keep them accident free.
